Cambridge Ready is a free platform for Cambridge English and IELTS exam preparation: over 1,600 exercises from real past papers for B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE) and IELTS Academic, with instant marking and an explanation for every question. The Daily
A free daily Use of English puzzle: four gaps — one multiple-choice cloze, one open cloze, one word formation and one key word transformation — the same four for everyone at your level, new every day. It takes about two minutes, needs no account, and once you have played you can see how everyone else did on each gap. Available for B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency at cambridgeready.com/daily.
What you can practise
Reading and Use of English: every exam part — multiple choice cloze, open cloze, word formation, key word transformation, gapped text, multiple matching and cross-text multiple matching.
Listening: real past-paper tasks with audio for every part of the exam.
Writing marked by an AI examiner: write any exam task and get marks on all four official Cambridge scales (Content, Communicative Achievement, Organisation, Language) in about a minute, with corrections quoted from your own script and an estimated grade — calibrated against Cambridge’s own examiner-marked scripts.
Ask the AI examiner about any answer: on Use of English, Reading and Listening results, tap the cap next to an answer to ask why it is right, why yours was not, or what the rule is — it answers about that exact sentence, and you can ask a follow-up.
Practice sets built from your own mistakes: every gap you get wrong on a Use of English paper comes back with the rule behind it written out — the collocation, the fixed expression, the grammar pattern — and then a second sentence to use it in, one you have not seen, because re-answering the question you just did only tests your memory. Nearly 3,000 practice sentences are written by hand, one for almost every phrase the Cambridge exams test.
Speaking marked by an AI examiner: answer out loud, Part by Part, as in the exam — with an AI partner who talks back in the paired tasks — and get marks on the official Cambridge Speaking criteria, what you did well and the one thing to fix next. Calibrated against Cambridge’s own examiner-marked sample tests.
Speaking practice: real test tasks with exam timers — solo with a recorder, live with a partner over a built-in video call, or a full three-person mock where a real examiner reads the official script.
Full mock exams: complete papers, timed and scored like the real exam.
A word bank built from your reading: tap any word in a text to see its meaning in that exact sentence, save it, and spaced gap-fill reviews bring it back just before you forget it.
Printable PDF worksheets: download any exercise as a print-ready worksheet with an optional answer key.
