The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Grange Park (1920) and Grange Park (today)

Two plans of the same rectangular park, bounded by Arnold Avenue to the north and Eldon Street to the south, each with an entrance in the middle of both of those sides. GRANGE PARK (1920): rose gardens in the north-west, north-east (to the right of the north entrance) and south-west corners; a pond for water plants in the north-east corner; a stage for musicians in the west part of the park; a fountain in the centre; a glasshouse along the south side, east of the south entrance; seats beside the north and south entrances and along the west and east edges. GRANGE PARK (today): the rose garden in the north-west corner remains; the stage has been replaced by an amphitheatre for concerts on the west side; the fountain has been replaced by a square rose garden in the centre, surrounded by seats on all four sides; a café and a children's play area now occupy the north-east, where the rose garden and pond were; the glasshouse has gone and a water feature is in the south-east corner; the south-west rose garden and the edge seats have gone; a new entrance to an underground car park is outside the south-east corner. Key changes: more facilities for families and entertainment (café, play area, amphitheatre, car park); fewer rose gardens (three reduced to two); the pond, fountain and glasshouse removed.
