The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010.

Two pie charts, one for 2000 and one for 2010, each divided into six segments that sum to 100%: No other language, French only, German only, Spanish only, Another language, and Two other languages. 2000 — No other language 20%, French only 15%, German only 10%, Spanish only 30%, Another language 15%, Two other languages 10%. 2010 — No other language 10%, French only 10%, German only 10%, Spanish only 35%, Another language 20%, Two other languages 15%. Key features: Spanish is the most commonly spoken second language in both years and grows from 30% to 35%. The share speaking no other language halves, from 20% to 10%. Students speaking two other languages rise from 10% to 15%, and "another language" from 15% to 20%. French falls from 15% to 10%, while German is unchanged at 10%.
