One of the (0) ___ moments in science occurred in 1953, when Francis Crick and James Watson at Cambridge University discovered the structure of DNA. They said that DNA was (1) ___ to two spiral staircases going up and down at the same time. Scientists all over the world (2) ___ this 'double helix' model immediately. The discovery was, of course, the result of years of hard work, and Crick and Watson weren't the only scientists who had been (3) ___ out research to find out what DNA (4) ___ like. Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin at King's College, London, had also been (5) ___ on the problem. They used X-ray analysis of DNA. (6) ___ Crick and Watson preferred to build models.
